Hat update - Kate's new hat for Zara Phillips wedding is desgned by British milliner Gina Foster and is from her Spring SUmmer 2011 collection.
Kate stepped out in ivory at this year's second British Royal wedding. The Duchess of Cambridge, who also has the title, the Countess of Strathearn in Scotland, joined the Royal family for the wedding of Zara Phillips to England rugby star Mike Tindall. Kate wore the stylish knee length coat by Danish fashion house Day Birger et Mikkelsen. It's a rewear for our thrifty Duchess. She has wore this coat twice before, first in 2006 to the wedding of Laura Parker Bowles and Harry Lopes - pictured below - and again in 2010 to the wedding of Mel Nicholson and Oli Barker. Kate also wore a cream lace dress by Australia based designer Colette Dinnigan which she's been snapped in twice before. She finished her outfit with her trusty LK Benett Sledge heels and Natalie clutch, both Royal Tour favourites.
The sun shone for the wedding which took place in Edinburgh's Canongate Kirk. Kate was accompanied husband William alongside the Queen, Prince Philip and Princess Anne. And blushing bride Zara, looked elegant in an ivory silk Stewart Parvin designed dress. The wedding was a private affair in comparison to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's wedding in April. There were no cameras inside the church, no order of service was released to the press and around 1500 fans made it into the historic Royal Mile of Edinburgh to see the weddding. And after the private ceremony, the Royals moved to the Hoylrood Palace for the evening reception, the official Scottish home of the Queen, who, according to the Daily Mail, offered the use of Holyrood house to her granddaughter as a wedding gift. It’s the first royal wedding in Scotland for two decades.
The last was the second marriage of Princess Anne, Zara’s mum, to Timothy Laurence which took place in 1992 at Crathie Kirk near Balmoral.
