Kate and William stepped out together to celebrate their first Christmas together as a married couple with Kate in particular looking fabulously festive for her first ever Christmas Day as a royal. The one-time commoner known as Kate Middleton looked every inch the Duchess when she stepped out for the church service at Sandringham St Mary's.
Kate wore a beautiful coat in a colour I'd call mulberry or plum, said to have been made by an independent British designer. According to the Express' royal reporter, Richard Palmer, a royal spokesman said: “The Duchess is keen to use independent British dress- makers, whose skills and craftsmanship she admires”.
Well, whoever made the coat, it was certainly something to behold with the stitching and cut just perfect. Kate paired the coat with a similarly coloured hat made by Jane Corbett, which What Kate Wore, is described as a modified trilby with ruffled accents cascading on the back and the back and piped edges.
I have to say when I saw Kate's shoes, I did think they were rather high considering the Royal family, except the Queen, have to walk to the church. However, the Duchess of Cambridge didn't seem to have any difficulty traversing the estate. Again, credit to What Kate Wore for the shoe id which are confirmed as being made by Spanish shoemakers, Mascaro and the heels were made at Kate's specific request. And it looks like Kate wore a black dress underneath the coat, it edge is just visible in the shot below.
